Garlic Shrimp and Sesame Spinach

Outrageously yummy!  Garlic shrimp are very popular in Las Vegas Chinese Restaurants.  Crispy wok fried shrimp with garlic is messy, fun, finger food.  Whole shrimp with heads and shells are best for this recipe.  Sesame spinach goes well with the garlic oil that falls off of the shrimp.
Sesame Spinach Recipe:  Heat some sesame oil and soy oil in a sauce pot over medium heat.
Add a pinch of minced garlic and a few generous pinches of minced ginger.
Add a generous amount of spinach leaves.
Add sea salt, white pepper and a few pinches of sesame seeds.
Stir and toss the spinach till it is wilted.
Set the spinach across a plate like a bed for the shrimp.
Garlic Shrimp Recipe:  Heat soy oil in a wok or saute pan over high heat.
Place some whole, unpeeled, large shrimp in the hot oil.
Add a generous amount of chopped garlic.  (About a small handful.)
Add sea salt and white pepper.
Add a couple pinches of crushed red pepper.
Add a couple pinches of five spice powder to the shrimp.
Toss and stir the shrimp till the shrimp are cooked and the shells become crisp.  (The garlic will cook to a dark brown color, but that is part of the charm of this recipe!)
Set the shrimp on the bed of wilted spinach and serve.
The aroma of garlic will fill the dining area!  The flavor of these garlic shrimp are simply delicious.  When shrimp have thin shells while molting, the shells can be eaten too.  Sesame flavored spinach is very nice with the garlic shrimp.  This is a very fun and flavorful light meal.  Yummy! ....  Shawna
